Tragedy struck on Friday night during a snowmobile race in Mt. Pleasant. Billy-Joe Travis, a 30-year-old Hillman resident, lost control during the race and was hit by two other racers.

After losing control in a turn, Travis' snowmobile filled over. He was then hit by the other racers.

Authorities say Travis was wearing a helmet but wasn't breathing and had no pulse when medical officials examined him.

Around 12 snowmobiles were on the track at the time of the crash.
