Some students in Millington could be forced to walk to school due to the lack of school bus drivers.

In the video above from WNEM, a mother explains how her daughter got on the bus the other day only to have the driver tell her that the buses are too packed and she's old enough to walk to school. Apparently, the family lives relatively close so they feel she should walk. Personally, I think it's up to the parent to decide when they feel their child is old enough to walk to school (I think 12 is definitely old enough).

I believe the bus driver mentioned the idea that the kids could possibly have to walk at some point because the buses could become too packed. Then the kid freaked out and called her mother immediately and blew the whole thing out of proportion. Kids exaggerate all the time, especially my kid so I could understand if that's what really happened.

At the end of the day, if she has to walk less than a mile, it shouldn't be a big deal. As far as "danger lurking around every corner"...let's not forget, it's Millington not the north end of Flint.
