At their E3 press conference today, Sony announced that The Last of Us Remastered will be coming to PlayStation 4 on July 29. They punctuated the announcement with a trailer showing the game's overhauled graphics.

Both a critical and commercial success on the PS3, The Last of Us will grace the PS4 with improved visuals, a 60 fps frame rate, native 1080p display and in-cinematic director commentary, along with new DLC for single and multi-player. The game was announced two months ago, but hadn't received a release date until today.

Apropos of nothing, The Last of Us will cross over with Blizzard's dungeon-crawling hit, Diablo III. All four types of infected enemies from The Last of Us (Runners, Stalkers, Clicker, and Bloaters) will appear in a special dungeon for the PS3 and PS4 versions of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls' Ulimate Evil edition. Why? Reasons.

The Last of Us Remastered is being developed by Naughty Dog, and published by Sony.
