Soundgarden's gig in Los Angeles was definitely the place to be for fans of 90's grunge bands. Not only was Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl on the floor for the gig, but they were joined by Pearl Jam's lead guitarist Mike McCready for a searing performance of 'Superunknown'.

A couple years back, Pearl Jam played a gig in L.A. and was joined on stage by Alice in Chains axeman Jerry Cantrell and Chris Cornell later in the night. Seems like Los Angeles is becoming the new Seattle, or at least where all the 90's Seattle bands live or work now.

Last Friday's Soundgarden gig became an equally star-studded event when Pearl Jam shredder Mike McCready jumped on stage to join the band. Most probably expected an old Temple of the Dog cover, after all, the band featured McCready, Cornell, and PJ/Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron. Instead the quintet busted open the title track to the 1994 grunge masterpiece 'Superunkown'. You can check out the whole performance below, but sparks really start to fly around the 3:35 mark.
