We all think it when we see a pedophile on the news, "Just cut the thing off".  South Korea is doing just that, except instead of cutting it off, they are chemically castrating a repeat child rapist.

For the first time in the country's history, South Korea is using chemical castration on a sex offender who has been convicted of raping and sexually assaulting four girls under the age of 13.

South Korea passed the law allowing castration in 2010 and this will be the first time that the country puts the law into use.  The 45-year-old monster behind the crimes will receive an injection on Friday, that lowers testosterone levels and inhibits sexual impulses.  The man will be released in July, and will receive injections every three months for three years.  If he misses an injection, he'll be sent back to prison for seven years.

Other countries such as Russia and Poland have similar laws in place, and Britain, Denmark, and Sweden offer voluntary chemical castration to convicted sex offenders.  In America, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Oregon, and Wisconsin all have some form of chemical castration laws in place.
