Staind's upcoming release 'Seven' has been referred to by the band as their return to the heaviness of the 'Dysfunction' era. It will be interesting to see if the band makes good on that promise, I guess we'll find out in September.

It has been a good number of years since Staind has kicked as much ass as they did on tracks like 'Mudshovel' and 'Raw'. In an interview with our very own Anne Erickson, the band said their upcoming album 'Seven' (most likely named because it is their 7th studio effort) will surpass those tracks in weight and bring them back to their heavier roots. 'Seven' is now officially on the way with the release date set for September 13th while the first single 'Not Again' will hit radio on July 18th. They are also contributing a new song called 'The Bottom' to the 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' soundtrack. No word on whether that will be on the album but you can check it out below.
