And the 'Star Wars: Episode 7' news just keeps coming. The latest rumor: '12 Years a Slave' star and likely Oscar contender Chiwetel Ejiofor was at the Bad Robot offices, which means he might have met with J.J. Abrams about the new 'Star Wars' film. Which means we might see Ejiofor in the new 'Star Wars' movie. Maybe. We hope so!

Chiwetel Ejiofor is a name you should probably get used to hearing (and familiarize yourself with how to pronounce it) -- the star of Steve McQueen's '12 Years a Slave' is all but guaranteed an Oscar for his incredible, heart-shattering performance in that film, and all that Oscar talk is also making him a very popular actor right now. So it's pretty understandable that a journalist ran into him at Bad Robot while interviewing J.J. Abrams about his new book, 'S.'

Via The Times UK and Bleeding Cool, the journalist reports:

The British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, front-runner in this year’s Oscar race, is sitting in the lobby of J.J. Abrams’ office. If you’re a sci-fi fan, this might be very big news indeed.

Of course the journalist couldn't keep himself from asking Abrams if Ejiofor was there to meet about 'Star Wars,' and received the customary non-answer:

He looks at me, dead-eyed. “I can’t discuss casting,” he says. “But he’s a very talented gentleman.”

While it's not a whole lot to go on, it seems pretty likely that Ejiofor was at Bad Robot to meet about an upcoming project -- one that might be in the process of casting as Abrams is reworking the script. Ejiofor would be an amazing choice to play a lead in the film, and would certainly bring some much-needed prestige to the sci-fi spectacle.
