Yea, you read that right. The State of Michigan is suing Gladwin County Drain Commissioner for $11 billion dollars for failing to do his job they claim.

I can not even begin to imagine what it would be like to be sued for that kind of money. Sure, I have been sued before, but not for anything near that amount. The worst I have been sued for was around $800 for a bill back in my college days that never got paid. This amount of $11 billion is just beyond my comprehension.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is taking Gladwin County Drain Commissioner Robert Evans to court for that amount. The department claims that he is not doing his job correctly by violating environmental regulations, and more. Evans, on the other hand, claims that he is doing his job. He took the position in 2010 and the department claims that he has been in the wrong since 2012.
