Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland Releases Cover Album

The ever-unpredictable Stone Temple Pilots vocalist Scott Weiland surprises us yet again by quietly releasing 'A Compilation of Scott Weiland Covers'. Nirvana, The Beatles, Radiohead, and (of course) David Bowie are among the artists covered on the newly released collection.

While STP singer Scott Weiland couldn't get his Christmas album done in time for a 2010 release (it's expected this holiday season), but he was able to throw together a disc of himself performing the musical works of others -- which is now available at his website.

The tracklist for 'A Compilation of Scott Weiland Covers', which includes a cover of 'Revolution' as recorded by Stone Temple Pilots in 2001, is as follows:

There were reports that STP quickly started working on a follow-up to their 2010 self-titled comeback album, but no further details have been announced. The band is on a short break before they finish the remaining dates on their 2011 U.S. tour:
