Ok, "survival guide" might be a little too heavy. Either way, here is a list of stuff you'll want to know about Dirt Fest 2015 in addition to some general music festival tips that everyone should know about.

Hi, I'm Tree. I work for the Banana -- perhaps you've heard me on the Banana Sunday afternoons after you leave church (yeah right) -- and I am a well-seasoned music festival veteran. I also am privy to a bunch of awesome info about Dirt Fest 2015 that not everyone may be aware of, so I've decided to bring you up to speed real quick-like, starting with the weather, which looks perfect for Friday and Saturday:

loading...
  • Hurry Up and Buy Your Tickets! -- The price will go up day of the show. So hurry up and buy your tickets early (scroll down to buy tix online).
  • Dirt Fest 2015 is 2 Days -- For the first time ever -- Dirt Fest is a 2-day festival. If you didn't know that yet, let me be the first to say "welcome to Earth." Make sure you know which band is playing which day (schedules available here) and please remember pace yourself if you're doing both days. Music festivals are a marathon, not a wind sprint.
  • Prohibited and Permitted Items -- It's all common sense stuff, but you can see the bottom of this page for the list.
  • Parking -- Unlike years passed, parking was included with the purchase of your ticket this year. You're welcome.
  • Re-Entry and what not -- Unlike just about every other music festival, you are allowed to leave and then come back. There are plenty of restaurants and stuff within walking distance though, so just be happy that re-entry is allowed. There will be a $5 fee for a wristband to re-enter.
  • Plan Your Day -- At a festival where there is soooo much going on, you'll probably want to put a loose strategy together to make the best use of your time. We have schedules for both Friday and Saturday available, so you can put a loose timeline together for yourself.
  • Wear Shoes (not sandals/flip flops) -- It's a music festival. You're going to be on your feet all day. Sandals suck for that.
  • Stay Hydrated -- Drink water fool! Even though the temps will be about perfect, you're still going to get dehydrated. Being outside all day can really beat you down, so down an H20 every hour or so and you'll be fine.
  • #dirtfest -- You're going to have your smartphone. You're going to take pictures. You're going to post them to Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter.
  • Check Banana1015.com on the Reg -- Our website is mobile optimized and it looks awesome on smartphones. We're going to be posting a lot of band interviews, crowd videos and photos throughout the day for you to check out. Plus, we have mobile-optimized schedules posted so you can always know when
  • Don't Forget the Locals -- There are a bunch of kick ass bands from Michigan at Dirt Fest. Don't forget to support our local music scene, without them -- festivals like this would be impossible. Walk around and check out some new bands. If you like them, stop by their tent and buy a shirt or CD. These guys all work really hard to be at Dirt Fest.
  • Check Out the Merch -- There will be a lot of bands and local businesses slanging sweet ass shirts and other stuff at Dirt Fest. Show them some love and get a shirt that all your other friends don't have. I bought a shirt at Dirt Fest a couple years ago and every time I wear it, at least three people ask me where I got it.
  • Be Safe -- If you're planning on drinking, please do so responsibly. In other words -- don't drink and drive! Make sure you arrange for a designated driver, Uber or some form of safe transportation. Another option would be to find a place to stay near the venue (and we don't mean the parking lot). You can find a list of nearby lodging options at Dirtfest.com
  • Have Fun, Don't Be a Dick-- The most important thing is that you have a good time, but remember to do so in a way that is respectful of others.
