The lay-offs are direct results of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the university.

Last night, the Flint City Council went over and approved a $55 million budget, which included $1.7 million to help fund Flint firefighters.

Some changes are being made to the athletic programs at Eastern Michigan University this spring. The school announced that it will be cutting four teams as it restructures its overall budget.
