As we approach the holiday weekend, many of us try to get the hell out of town. Sadly, summer in Michigan often leads to construction slow downs on the road. However, this weekend, MDOT is trying to make your holiday travels easier.
With Spring right around the corner, the never ending battle to repair and fix roads in Michigan continues. Sure it may be inconvenient, but we wouldn't be able to go anywhere if they didn't try to fix the roads.
After an accident this summer that caused major damage to the bridge over US-23 on Lahring Road, crews will be closing down a portion of the road on Wednesday for repairs. Starting at 4 p.m., MDOT will be closing Lahring Road from North Road to Saint Andrews Way to replace the concrete barrier wall.
Sometimes it can be a real pain to have to detour your regularly traveled roads but this is Michigan and some construction projects are in desperate need of completion. There's a few projects in the are that are getting underway as we speak.
