Looks like we might have 'Deadpool' himself for the movie being made. That is good news for all of you like me that only have this movie to look forward to this Valentine's day. The movie looks hilarious and I can't wait to see it. Screw expensive dinners this weekend!

Fox has yet to officially green light the X-Force film, but if Deadpool does as well as early tracking suggests (promo screening buzz has been pretty positive from general audiences) and if Ryan Reynolds has his way, it won’t be long before we see the Merc With a Mouth team up with the X-Force for his own superhero team movie. Given Reynolds’ success in getting a proper Deadpool adaptation off the ground, this seems fairly likely.

Deadpool will be the first R-rated Marvel movie since 2008’s Punisher: War Zone; it was officially rated R by the MPAA for “strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.” Pretty intense stuff for a superhero movie! But, if you need your Deadpool to get even more intense, star T.J. Miller says there is a planned Director’s Cut of the film that will be “even more raw” than what you see in theaters.

I’m on the fence about Deadpool as a movie. On the one hand, I like the irreverent tone and how it mostly seems to be sending up all the cliches we’ve become used to in modern superhero movies. On the other, I could see this potentially getting annoying and grating over the course of an entire movie. But, one thing I think we can universally agree on is that the marketing so far has been brilliant. Latest case in point? This Los Angeles billboard which uses emoji in the dumbest and most immature way. And it’s fantastic.

It’s officially 2016. Our Best of 2015 lists have all been published and the new year is upon us, which means it’s time to start looking to the future. Yes, 2015 was a particularly good year for movie fans, but 2016 looks pretty impressive too. You like Coen Bros. movies? We got one of those. You like Star Wars? Yup, one of those too. Critically acclaimed horror movies? Sure. Pixar? Of course. Movies where your favorite superheroes beat the crap out of each other? WE GOT TWO OF THOSE. We put together a quick list of the 25 movies — a mix of both blockbusters and indies — that we can’t wait to see next year. This will probably change as the year goes on (our 2015 list included Jupiter Ascending, Aloha and Tomorrowland so we’re not perfect), but based on what we know right now, this is it. Here are the movies we’re looking forward to the most in 2016, in the order of release date (those with no release date are listed in alphabetical order).

Today brings a few more images, including one of Morena Baccarin, as well as a report on the official runtime of the Merc With a Mouth’s R-rated solo outing.

Surprise! More new Deadpool photos have arrived online. Although the 12 Days of Deadpool came to an end with the red and green band trailers on Christmas Day, even more photos and details from the Merc With a Mouth’s R-rated solo outing have been popping up daily since then, with the latest batch of photos showing off an X-Men connection and a very dusty Angel Dust.

Kids these days and their darned, new-fangled ways of communicating. I can't wrap my head around what anyone means when they text me "pizza pizza cat-face gun eggplant."   You pretty much need to be a World War II codebreaker or have an Enigma machine to understand what the hell anyone is saying to you through the telephone chat portal. Emojis? ...

Deadpool is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters in the comic book world. Here we see him trying to recruit and put together a team. The interactions are awesome between him and the kids. The parents of the kids are definitely some of the coolest for letting them do this too.

We normally like to steer clear of the “trailer for a trailer” phenomena that results in photos of a 6-second Instagram video of a 15-second YouTube video teaser of an actual trailer. It’s a toxic fad in the world of movie promotion and one we hope goes away quickly, but we couldn’t resist sharing this trailer for a trailer for Deadpool. For one, it’s almost a minute long, and for another, it’s just funny.

Just the other day, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he’s been fighting with Fox over the rating for Deadpool, which he (and many other fans) firmly believes should be rated R. That’s been the big Deadpool question this week, and now it appears we have an unequivocal answer thanks to the magic of the April Fools’ holiday and one very special interview with Reynolds himself.

Deadpool has finally begun filming after over 8 years in development. It's been a long time for Ryan Reynolds and fans of the merc with a mouth, but to help thank you for your support (and help getting this movie made), Reynolds has tweeted out the first look at his new costume in the film.
