Detroit Red Wings

Aside from fighting (Which there is now considerably less of; thank you Gary Bettman) These are the kind of hits that make hockey...well...hockey.

So yesterday was not good day if you're a Pistons or Wings fan to say the least. Not only did the both teams fall to Chicago, but it was UGLY.

This is way SICK !!!, Pavel Datsyuk straight up brakes Logan Coutrue's ankles. This is the hockey equivalent of some nasty street ball moves. Check it out, I can pretty much guarantee you'll watch it more than once.

Despite have Kyle Quincey, Mikael Samuelsson, Todd Bertuzzi, & Darren Helm all still on the DL, the wings have managed to pull together a nice string of wins while hangin' out on the west coast this week, with tonight game against the San Jose Sharks being the last stop on the west coast road trip before heading home to play Division rival Chicago.

Former Maple Leafs starter Jonas Gustavsson stones Lauri Korpikoski on a penalty shot with 4:00 left in the 3rd, but was it enough to lead the Wings to victory?

With two wins against 2nd place Anaheim (Friday, 5-1 & Sunday, 2-1) over the weekend; the Wings moved themselves into fifth and more or less guaranteed themselves an appearance in the 2013 NHL playoffs. Check out the highlights from last nights game.
