On Wednesday, officials broke ground at the site of a new safety complex in Montrose Township. Their hopes are to have the $5 million project finished in 10-11 months.
Flint Firefighters were alerted last night about a fire at the Evergreen Regency Apartment. The call came in around 8 p.m. to 9-1-1. Firefighters were quick to respond as they were told someone may be in that apartment that was on fire.
Over the weekend, a fire destroyed the Islamic Center of Ypsilanti. In the investigation, authorities have identified a 16-year-old boy as the suspect.
Back in December a fire was reported at Boyne Highlands Resort. Reports say David Soltysiak, of Petosky, not only set the fire in a room, but also ran from security and sprayed a fire extinguisher at a guard.

Around 6 o'clock Tuesday night, firefighters were call to a house fire on Nerredia Street in Flint Township. The home owner and three dogs were able to escape the fire and firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly.
Thankfully no one was hurt in a fire this morning in Vienna Township. Firefighters were called to Bentley Manor this morning after the fire was discovered.
Early this morning, a fire destroyed a local catering business on Coldwater Road near Davison. Bon Appetit Catering was fully filled with flames and the building is a total loss.
