It was announced yesterday that Disney purchased Lucasfilm and its subsidiaries for $4 billion, with plans to release the first movie ('Star Wars: Episode 7') in a new planned 'Star Wars' trilogy in 2015. Although the additional news that these films will be based on an original story and not on any of the spin-off book series like fans were hoping, we are reportedly still in for an exciting ride.

According to author Dale Pollock, who wrote a biography on filmmaker George Lucas, the upcoming 'Star Wars' trilogy from Disney will be the most exciting 'Star Wars' films yet.

George Lucas has been the master of 'Star Wars' since its inception and though spin-off cartoons and games have been the norm for years, the film series seemed done with after six movies.
