No doubt about it, prisoners cost taxpayers money. A new law, signed by Governor Rick Snyder, would help relieve some of that cost, and charge prisoners for their stay in city jails.
February 10, 2012 A Michigan man put on quite a show outside the Muskegon County Jail for his girlfriend and her fellow inmates. Terry Glen Doxey, 47, actually sat in his car jacking off with the interior light on so the girls could see him. I am not sure if this is true love or truly ridiculous. I think I will go with riDICKulous!
January 16, 2012 When do religious rights trump safety? The Kentucky Supreme Court will soon have a say in one particular case. Last September a group of Amish men were jailed for refusing to pay fines for not putting reflectors on their buggies.
The men believe the bright orange signs conflict with their religious beliefs to live a plain life, free of flashy colors according to Chron.com. In my opinion, a disco ball is "flashy", a reflector not so much.
November 14, 2011 This is one hell of a way to wake up from a nap. First off this dude wakes up with some douche bag in his face, then gets punched repeatedly and finally ends up getting tazed. September 7, 2011 This is crazy. I thought my bill collectors were bad but this is just nuts. An Iowa man was sentenced to 10 days in jail for overdue books and other items from the Newton Public Library. When the library couldn't get in touch with him they called in the police and the city attorney. He was charged with misdemeanor theft since the 27 items were worth $770.67. On top of the 10 days in jail he was ordered pay restitution and a fine of $625. I really hope Maggie has overdue books -- I'm turning her in!
