Face It, Tiger, the Early Buzz for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Is Pretty Great

According to census estimates, there are currently 325.3 million people in the United States, which means there has to be dozens  —  maybe even hundreds!  —  of people who remain blissfully unaware that a new Spider-Man movie is hitting theaters this summer. The rest of us, however, have lived through the past several months of production rumors, trailers, teasers, teaser trailers, toy reveals, interviews, commercials, specials, features, articles, social advertising, news items, and just about any other form of audio or visual media that Marvel could commercially or organically slap a Spider-Man: Homecoming logo on. In fact, we’ve reached that point in the hype cycle where most fans are completely exhausted with marketing. Can’t we just start talking about the movie itself?

It may be the least surprising news you read all day, but it’s still comforting to know that Spider-Man is back in good hands (for at least three films and a few MCU appearances, anyway).

17 Times James Gunn Had to Correct People on Twitter About ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

It’s not easy directing a Marvel movie. Kevin Feige Says the Marvel Movies and Shows Will Cross Over ‘At Some Point’

Ever since Daredevil paved the way for a new wave of Marvel television shows, fans have been waiting for the day that the studio would throw all its beloved superheroes into one giant pot. Spider-Man fighting alongside Daredevil; Jessica Jones and Gamora arguing over which one of them has more anger issues; Black Panther beating the ever-loving crap out of Iron Fist just because. Unfortunately for us, Marvel has maintained a strict separation between its television and movie properties, always suggesting that the legal and logistical requirements of bringing everyone together would require a (sorry) superhuman effort on the part of the studio
