Aside from a few brief glimpses in the trailers, we haven’t seen much of Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress in Suicide Squad. The mystical and mysterious villain is the subject of one of two new promos for David Ayer’s upcoming DC super-villain film, while the other…well, he doesn’t really need an introduction.

Kudos to the Warner Bros. marketing department for keeping the main villain of Suicide Squad secret for so long, and although that may change in the next month as David Ayer’s film begins screening for critics, for now it remains an intriguing mystery. That mystery deepens in a new interview with a couple of the film’s producers, who reveal that the enigmatic “adversary” isn’t the only foe the Squad will have to contend with next month.

As you’ve seen in the trailers, Ben Affleck’s Batman makes an appearance in Suicide Squad, which makes sense given that A. It’s a DC Comics movie and B. It features The Joker — you can’t exactly have a movie starring Batman’s arch-nemesis without including Batman himself. But exactly how does the Dark Knight fit into David Ayer’s super-villain team-up?

We are about a month away from the release of Suicide Squad, David Ayer’s devious new DC super-villain team-up that brings The Joker, Harley Quinn, Deadshot and more together in what will hopefully prove to be an antidote to this disappointing summer movie season. If you’re itching for a new look at the Squad, Ayer’s film has taken over the latest edition of EW, which features the cast on four different magazine covers as well as some new info on the highly-anticipated project.

I saw the Suicide Squad trailer on the big screen for the first time last week. (It was one of the few highlights of my trip to the multiplex for Independence Day: Resurgence.) Sometimes trailers play very differently on the big screen than they do at home. But Suicide Squad worked even better big than it did on my laptop. It just looks like a hit, which is not something you can say about many 2016 summer movies (like, for example, Independence Day: Resurgence).

When Christopher Nolan first revealed Heath Ledger’s Joker for The Dark Knight, fans were pretty annoyed with the drastic departure from the classic depictions of the character. Reactions to Jared Leto’s version of the character from Suicide Squad were twice as intense thanks to that gold grill and his collection of questionable tattoos, which mostly left fans feeling baffled. If you’re curious about what on earth inspired David Ayer’s new Joker, the director has offered some insight into his influences — most of which you can find on Instagram.

Suicide Squad is one of our most anticipated films of the summer — mostly because after a few months of watching heroes save the world in big blockbusters, it’ll be fun to see a team of villains swoop in to shake things up. If Amanda Waller is to be believed in these new TV spots, these guys (and a couple of ladies) are the worst of the worst, but maybe that’s what we need right now.

That headline seems a bit misleading because the real news here is that Suicide Squad is about to join the catalog of films that have their very own rap song — which includes recent releases like Deadpool and, weirdly, Jodie Foster’s Money Monster. Rick Ross and Skrillex collaborated on a track for David Ayer’s upcoming super-villain team-up, and according to a new report, the music video will feature Jared Leto’s Joker.

August can't get here soon enough. There are so many awesome comic book movies coming out this year that I will be broke because of them. I'm still on the fence about this one though. I liked 'Batman V Superman' and am wondering how Batman will be in this one. We catch a glimpse of him in this trailer and a bit more of the Joker as well.

Arrow fans have noticed more steadily that any and all Suicide Squad characters shared with the upcoming film have been “taken off the table” through various means, seemingly for good. Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke still draws breath, but may now be “tied up in another DC project” and equally unable to return, according to producer Marc Guggenheim.

The trailer for Suicide Squad might have been a little divisive when it came to convincing people that the movie itself was worth seeing, but the one thing we can all agree on was that it was a pretty great trailer. It was put together very well, with music and dialogue that set a tone that no other DC movie has managed to capture. And now, it's been put together again, but with a twist. YouTube's own Reuven White has re-cut the trailer using footage from the DC Animated Universe, including Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League and more, matching it all up to the audio from the official version, and it's pretty great. Give it a watch!
