Suprise, Suprise, Ted Williams, the bum with the golden voice, wasn't telling the truth when he said he was 2 years sober.  But the good news is, Williams has talked to Dr. Phil.  Wanna know more about a drunk bum that has more money than you?

When I first saw the Ted Williams video, I was impressed.  His voice was undeniable and I'm all for people getting second chances.  But as the story grew and grew, I almost feel bad for Ted.  Not that his condition of living hasn't improved, it obviously has.  But he's been living on the streets for the past 20 years, and I'm pretty sure one becomes accustomed to a lifestyle in that time.   I bet when he was at the Today Show, people had to tell him not to eat out of the trash and to not ask Willard Scott for change.  You do certain things when your homeless, that most other people wouldn't understand.

The last time this guy had an address, I was in the second grade.  Think about all the stuff that has changed since then.  And think about how much Williams life has changed.  2 months ago, his main concern was not freezing to death.  Now, Kraft is paying him thousands to talk about Macaroni and Cheese.  He's not going to know what to do with this money, or attention, and this could all end up overwhelming him.  And are you going to trust a bum who says he's been sober for 2 years?

Good thing somebody called Dr. Phil.  According to Yahoo! News, Williams was involved in an incident involving police this weekend, which brought him to the Dr. Phil show.  During the shows filming, Williams agreed to attend private rehab.

I personally think this is a step in the right direction, because if Williams was just given a house and thousands of dollars, the results could have been disastrous.
