A Utah teen who was denied a double lung transplant, is reportedly going to recover in a Philadelphia hospital for one year. Riley Hancey, 19, traveled to Pennsylvania after doctors in his home state refused to perform the transplant after he tested positive for marijuana.

According to Riley's father, his sons lung issues were not caused by marijuana use. The problem was discovered after the teen was diagnosed with a severe form of pneumonia. His lungs collapsed while in the hospital. The University of Utah Hospital claims to follow international guidelines for transplants and made the  following statement,

We do not transplant organs in patients with active alcohol, tobacco or illicit drug use or dependencies until these issues are addressed, as these substances are contraindicated for a transplant."

I am sure you have an opinion on this. Check out the news piece below and let us know your thoughts. Should Riley have been denied?
