The acoustic duo comprised of funnymen Jack Black and Kyle Gass will be back with a new album just in time for Christmas.

It has been a long time for fans of the D but it looks like that new album is finally getting underway. Things have been pretty quiet in the Tenacious D camp after the release and promotion of their hilarious box office  flop "Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny" and it's accompanying soundtrack in 2006. In a recent interview Jack Black said that he and KG are in the middle of recording and album. He went on to say:

"We're about halfway through the writing process. We need another few months. But you can look for it at the end of 2011...We're gonna be talking about love, there are gonna be some songs about sex and there's gonna be songs about food."

Sounds like my kind of party. If you can't wait until then, here is an impromptu rock off  between Conan and Jack Black from last month...
