The 62nd Annual Flint Olympian Games Are Under Way

The 62nd Annual Flint Olympian games kicked off with the opening ceremony yesterday at Southwestern Classical Acadamy. The competition between sister cities of Flint and Hamilton Ontario otherwise known as the CANUSA games will take place in Canada next month.

There will be weeks of competition here in Flint for many different sporting events which include basketball, baseball along with track and filed to name a few.

For a few years, the annual games were in trouble due to participation from both cities. With the help of The Crim Fitness Foundation, there has been new found life for the events and look to be as strong as ever. I myself played in the CANUSA games a few times growing up with baseball being the sport that I played and was able to go over to Canada. It was a great experience and glad to see that it is still going on and wish all the athletes the best of luck.
