Progressive rock outfit The Mars Volta have discreetly announced new album details through their involvement with an upcoming video game -- it's not as complicated as it sounds.

According to Antiquiet, it has been rumored that The Mars Volta have been gearing up to release a new album called 'In Absentia' on March 27th. Though this has not been confirmed by the band, the singer Cendric Bixler-Zavala previously stated via his YouTube account:

"New volta almost done. vocals done. just trying rebutcher it and add bass and finish guitar. in studio until this week then on to mexico to add more quantum entanglement to it. the sonogram of the little beast is looking very good.”

The latest update came in response to news that a new song from Mars Volta would appear in the upcoming video game 'MLB 12: The Show.'  Once the Playstation Blog announcement made it's way to Mars Volta's fanbase, they began to inquire about the unusually titled track (which is actually pretty standard for the band) 'Zed and Two Naughts.' Oddly enough, there is already a song with that name by the Finnish group The Vacuum Cleaners. Bixler-Zavala again took to his YouTube page to give more details on the track:

"Yes, we do have a song on that video game and it is from our new album. It is not a cover. I was just made aware of the Vacuum Cleaners song w/ the same title but they have nothing to do with each other.”

Two songs with that weird ass title -- what are the odds of that? The new album -- whenever it comes out with what ever title -- will be the band's sixth full-length and the follow up to 2009's  'Octahedron.'
