If you're not a fan of Seinfeld, I probably wouldn't get along with you.  When you take into consideration of what makes a show truly great, Seinfeld has to be at the very least, in the argument of greatest show of all time.  Today, Seinfeld fans everywhere celebrate Festivus.

Much like George Costanza proved to his boss, Mr. Kruger, Festivus is all too real.  One of the writers on Seinfeld had a father who hated the commercialism of Christmas, so he created his own holiday in protest.  There was some embellishing of the story, but a lot of what actually happened in the episode happened in real life.
