With 'The Walking Dead' season 4 due to premiere on October 13 with "30 Days Without an Accident," and spilling new photos and casting announcements all over the place, we'd been wondering if AMC had opted for a third web series tie-in to follow last year's "Cold Storage" and the previous "Torn Apart." Our questions have been answered, as October 1 will see the premiere of 'The Walking Dead''s latest tie in series "The Oath," again directed by executive producer and FX guru Greg Nicotero!

Premiering October 1 in three installments of 7-10 minute length, 'The Oath' will see the sole survivors of a massive walker attack, Paul (Wyatt Russell) and Karina (Ashley Bell), make their way across the countryside in search of medical care as one slowly bleeds out from an earlier injury. Finding a hospital that has not yet been overrun by the walking dead, joy turns to horror as an otherwise benevolent doctor (Ellen Greene) slowly reveals a much more sinister agenda.

"The webisodes give us a unique opportunity to see other parts of the ravaged world of ‘The Walking Dead’ while weaving in and out of our show," said Nicotero of the production. "The crossover between ‘The Oath’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ ties in one of the most iconic images from the series, and gives us insights and history to yet another timeline. I had worked with Ashley on 'The Last Exorcism' and brought in Wyatt and Ellen, who rounded out the brilliant cast perfectly.”

The previous year's webisodes "Cold Storage" starred 'The Dark Knight Rises' actor Josh Stewart, as well as 'LOST' fan favorite Daniel Roebuck, and 'Cabin Fever' star Cerina Vincent. Though not confirmed, we previously had some ideas about 'The Walking Dead''s "companion series" spinoff featuring the webisode characters. Just sayin', AMC!

We'll bring you the latest from 'The Oath' as we count down to 'The Walking Dead' season 4, so check out the first photo above, and give us your predictions in the comments!
