TIL Vaping Competitions Are Real Things That Happen [VIDEO]

I was vaguely aware that some people take vaping a little too seriously, but until today -- I had no idea how deep that rabbit hole goes.

So today I was scrolling through my news feed and saw the above video of a guy making fun of vapers. It gave me a good laugh, and then, for some reason, the question "are there vaping competitions" popped into my head. Not only was the answer yes, but it led to me wasting almost a whole hour on YouTube watching different videos of vape competitions, vape meets, and vape tricks in disbelief.

The video below of a vape competition in New Jersey was the first one I found, mostly because it has over 2 million views. I have no f---ing idea why, but this half hour long video of people standing in a smoky vape-y room has 6 times more views than every one of the 284 videos on our YouTube channel combined.

Maybe I missed something hilarious by skimming through -- obviously I didn't watch the whole thing -- but what are these people doing with their lives? I like to drink beer and bowl in my spare time, neither of which are the most noble of hobbies, but I can't comprehend that this is how these people spend their free time.

I will say this about the above video, at least it doesn't feature obnoxious dubstep like most of the other videos I came across. While the dubstep isn't rampant here, aren't the title and music a little intense for two dudes standing back to back and blowing? I mean, I don't even get the entertainment value of watching this on YouTube, let alone in person.

That being said, there are some videos where people do cool tricks. I just can't believe that there are full rooms of people, devoted to watching this stuff live. Seriously, we've put on concerts with legit bands that had less people show up than the crowds you see in some of these videos. I don't get it. Then again, I don't get much about the world these days, said the grumpy old man after telling the neighborhood kids looking for Pokemon to get off his damn lawn.

Now that I know this is a thing, I'd like to announce that I'm launching my own Vape Sports Network called VSPN. Our annual vape meets will feature all the best vapers in the game, if they can get that day off from McDonalds, of course. Obviously, we'll run fart lighting competitions in the off season. Ranch me, bro.
