Tony LaBrie’s Top Radio Songs of 2013 [VIDEO]
There were some really good songs that came out in 2013 and trying to narrow it down to just a few is kinda tough. Here’s a list of some of my favorite songs (in no particular order) that we rocked out to in 2013.
Devour The Day – Good Man
Not only was this song just straight up badass, it also sounded like nothing else on the radio. It was great to see Joey and Blake from Egypt Central break away and come out swinging like they did. Their debut album ‘Time and Pressure’ is also one of my favorite albums of 2013.
Avenged Sevenfold – Hail To The King
Even though the band took some serious criticism on their ‘Hail to the King’ release, there’s no denying this song kills.
Pop Evil – Trenches
Finally our Grand Rapids brothers in Pop Evil scored their first ever #1 hit with the release of ‘Trenches’ from their 2013 album ‘Onyx’. This was well deserved and long over due. The band now has two #1 hits at radio as ‘Deal With The Devil’ also just landed on top of the charts a couple weeks ago.
Young Guns – Bones
Though ‘Bones’ was released in 2012, it was still the most played song on Banana 101.5 in 2013. No matter how many times I play this song it will never get old to me.
Digital Summer – Dance in The Fire
‘Dance in The Fire’ from Digital Summer got little airplay in 2013 but it’s still one of my personal favorites. I feel this is the most underrated band in the rock world right now. Their new acoustic album ‘After Hours: Unplugged and Rewired’ is without a doubt my favorite release of 2013.
These are just a handful of great songs that came out in 2013, there are many more and I could go on and on. Happy New Year!
