Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has worked with video games in the past, creating the theme music for Call of Duty: Black Ops II in 2012 and NIN soundtracked The Darkness II in the same year. More recently, "The Wretched," a 1999 Nine Inch Nails track, scored the trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, but his relationship with the game is apparently more than that: Reznor was also credited as the trailer's "music consultant." The game's Twitter account also thanked Reznor for "his vision on the Batman #ArkhamKnight #BeTheBatman trailer."

It's also been speculated that Reznor helped bring Tim and Jeff Cronenweth on board as the game's directors, since he worked with them on the movies Gone Girl and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Batman: Arkham Knight is the sequel to the 2013 game Batman: Arkham Origins and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 23.
