In his third tour of Afghanistan, Sgt. Travis Mills was critically injured by an IED, losing parts of all four limbs, making him just the fourth surviving quadruple amputee in U.S. Military history. The 25-year-old husband and father is a native of Vassar, and according to family and friends, Mills is the epitome of high character.
