Over the years we've witnessed so many videos of people getting hurt while walking and texting. While most of those videos were hilarious, there have also been many cases where people have been seriously injured.

The city of Montclair in California is doing something to combat injuries caused by walking and texting or even talking on the phone. This also includes listening to music with both earbuds in and simply looking at your phone. Basically, they've outlawed distracted walking. According to ABC12, For now, police will give violators a warning. But beginning in August they could be given a $100 citation.

This isn't something that's made its way here just yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I only know of a couple of cities that have started enforcing this so I'm sure it's coming our way. I don't think it's a bad idea since so many people are walking around this earth like freaking zombies and not paying attention to anything that's going on around them.
