According to drummer Matt Sorum, Velvet Revolver have found their new frontman...

Scott Weiland made his departure from the "supergroup" comprised of himself, members of Guns & Roses (Slash, Duff Mckagan, and Matt Sorum), and guitarist Dave Kushner in 2008. They've since been without a vocalist and have actively been searching for a suitable replacement. First there were multiple rumors of new singers including Thurston Moore (Spacehog), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), and even the already too busy Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), then the rumors stopped (as did the auditions). Slash's solo album and Duff's side project "Loaded" and stint as Jane's Addiction's bass player have provided some distractions, but it appears the band is back on the hunt.

In a recent interview Matt Sorum said they have a guy they "really like a lot" adding that "this could be a real turning point for the band". He went on to say "We can't make the announcement yet because we're 'dating,' you know...We haven't consummated the relationship, we haven't sat down this gentleman and made the agreement together."

A very mysterious statement but Matt did throw fans a bone by hinting that the potential new singer is a "known guy" who is "younger and stronger". Let the speculation begin (I'm betting Johnny Strong of Operator, their album sounded like a VR album w/ him on vocals anyway)...

Check out the video of what the band is capable of when firing on all cylinders. Don't know why we don't play this anymore...it's a kick-ass song!
