It's his property, yet the city says they will arrest him for trespassing if he continues living there.

Tyler Truitt and his girlfriend have been threatened with jail time for living off-grid, with the city saying the living conditions are unsafe because there are no city utilities hooked up. Truitt is a military veteran who told WAFF 48 News "I took an oath that I would support and defend the constitution and the freedoms that that entails, and I feel like those are really being trampled upon". He is prepared to fight for what he believes in once again, and says he will go to jail before he leaves his home.

OPINION:

Being here in Flint, where collecting rain water would be FAR safer than drinking our lead-ade, it's hard not to get ruffled feathers from this story. I would also go out on a limb and guess that his time in the military didn't always include the safest conditions and the comforts of city utilities. I guess it's ok to fight for rights, but you can't have them once you're done fighting for them.
