A woman from the Metro Detroit area recently went missing while traveling in Peru.

35-year-old Carla Valpeoz traveled to Peru alone but had plans to meet other travelers while on her adventure. According to WDIV, Valpeoz is a community leader, social worker and author of "Visionless Adventures." She works and travels all around the world and is known as a brave trailblazer for the visually impaired.

She was last seen on Dec11th or 12th (there have been different reports) and was staying at the Pariwana Hostel in Cusco.

Valpeoz is 5 feet,1 inch tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. She isn't 100% blind but she does have extremely low vision and travels with a cane.

Her father is traveling to Peru to meet with police to try and figure out what happened and where she is. At this point, they aren't suspecting foul play. It would be really hard to not think foul play though since she missed her flight home, her phone is off and there's been no activity on her credit cards.
