There are a handful of go-to song ending cliches that classic rock bands employ, and Guns N' Roses used every single one of them to end 'November Rain' at Coachella.

First, they did the slowly fade out while the guitarist does weird ambient noise thing. Then, they did that thing where the drummer swaps playing the beat for frantically crashing the cymbals while the lead guitarist or pianist (or in this case -- both) go crazy for a few measures. Next, they did the thing where everybody hits the same end chord while the drummer simultaneously crashes the cymbals a few times in a row. Instead of ending strong on the fifth or sixth time they mashed the end chord, like most bands do, they let the chord ring and launched back into the second thing I mentioned and started the cycle over.

The end of the song seemed to go on forever (a second forever that feels longer than the one you just lived through while the previous parts of the song played), but it was actually just over a minute in duration. It's one of those things that's like "Oh my god just end the damn song already" when you see it on YouTube, but when you're at Coachella and high on molly and you can only see light trails and outlines of people and have a third-degree sunburn and you're dehydrated and have severe heat exhaustion and you're pretty sure you saw one of the Kardashian's nipples earlier and the last meal you had was half a granola bar that you found on the ground near the gate outside the fenced off VIP area where Leonardo DiCaprio was making out with Rihanna 11 hours ago -- you are probably in "I hope this moment lasts forever" mode. Kudos to Gn'R for actually trying to make a moment last forever.

Rumor has it that next weekend they're going to vamp the ending of the song until either the crowd leaves or the band breaks up again -- sort of like a Mexican standoff.

Also, did Slash eat Axl's mustache to gain his powers?
