A Canadian woman recently made medical history by becoming the first person in the world to live without lungs for six days.

According to WNEM, she was born with cystic fibrosis and her lungs became infected. Doctors had to remove her lungs as the infection was spreading throughout her body. They said by taking out the lungs and putting her on a breathing treatment was the only way to save her life. After six days, she got a double transplant.

It's so amazing because the family kept hearing that there was only a 1% chance of it actually working. Now she feels better than ever.
