Yngwie Malmsteen’s Tech Drops Guitar During Royal Oak Show [VIDEO]

Earlier this week I went to the Generation Axe Tour in Royal Oak. The line up included Tosin Abasi, Nuno Bettencourt, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.

The show was absolutely amazing, there was just so much talent under one roof. The entire evening seemed flawless until Yngwie Malmsteen threw one of his Fender Strats into the air, like he did many times throughout his solo performance. This time around though, his stage hand didn't make the catch and dropped the guitar to the ground with a massive thud.

While he was onstage he acted like it was no big deal but you could tell he was pissed as he disappeared for a couple minutes, most likely to verbally shred his stage hand. He ended up coming back out to finish his set.
