Beacon Park in Detroit Turns Into Free “Parcade”
The FIRST Robotics Competition is heading to Detroit and in honor of that, Beacon Park has been transformed into a free "Parcade."
From now until Sunday, April 29th Beacon Park will open up to people looking to have a little fun. At this free event you will be able to try some classic and newer video games that have been upgraded with modern technology. Games include the classics like PacMan and Donkey Kong, along with games like NBA Showtime and Marvel vs. Capcom.
Each day this week the park will be open at 10 am and stay open until 10 pm. Along with the video games there will be food trucks, volleyball, bumper bubble soccer, LED putt-putt, ultimate frisbee, and more.
The FIRST Robotics Championship will see around 40,000 students and families hit the Detroit area. To learn more about the FIRST Robotics Competition, click here.
