During the long holiday weekend, someone with a huge pair of stones broke into Flint City Hall and made off with a television.

Flint's City Hall is located right across the street from the Genesee County Jail, which makes it an unlikely target for burglary... but also an unexpected one. It was likely the element of surprise that allowed the suspect to complete their task undetected.

According to reports, a broken window allowed the suspect to enter an empty office, where a TV was theirs for the taking. There are no arrests as of yet, but police are asking anyone with information to call 810-237-6800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (774-2587).

While we have no idea who did this, we do have a two ideas on how to begin the investigation:

  1. Verify the alibis of Flint's City Council members. These things are often inside jobs.
  2. See if Harry Lime and Marv Merchants (aka "The Wet Bandits") have been released from prison. Robbing vacant properties on the holidays was their thing if we remember correctly.
