Less than a week after a report of an alleged abduction attempt at a Burton store, yet another woman is warning others on Facebook about a separate, yet-equally creepy incident that took place at a different Burton store.

What the hell is going on in Burton? This is the second report of unusually creepy behavior in a very public place in just a week's time. The previous one, an unconfirmed report of a near-abduction at the Burton Walmart, made a lot of waves last week. Several people called into question the validity of that incident, as Walmart employees and Burton Police were unable to substantiate it. Either way, it still helped deliver an important reminder about personal safety. Unfortunately, there is another suspicious warning about the same area.

This time, a local woman is sharing the story of what allegedly happened to her daughter-in-law at the Burton TJ Maxx. According to the post (see below), the female in question was shopping with her mother and a baby, and noticed a man recording her, (presumably on his phone) while she was alone in an aisle. She then rejoined her mother, and they made the man aware that they knew what he was up to, before notifying an employee. TJ Maxx didn't have security on duty at that time, but the employee did help them to get safely to their vehicle and out of harm's way.

I'm aware that this isn't a confirmed incident, but more often than not -- these situations go unreported. Even if you follow up on them, you'd have a hard time getting an establishment to admit some stranger danger action went down. Those things aren't typically "good for the brand," if you catch my drift.

The takeaway here is in line with the message that last week's warning emphasized -- safety in numbers. If you're aware of your surroundings, and have an adult companion (be it a friend, relative, or significant other) with you while shopping at night -- the chances of you falling victim to these types of predators are significantly lower.

Be safe out there.
