In 1995, Disney attempted to adapt Kevin Smith's now-classic slacker comedy 'Clerks' for the small screen. Thankfully, they had the good sense to bury this unwatchable piece of s--- deep, deep in a vault somewhere.

As it turns out, Dante and Randall returned for more clerk-y adventures long before Kevin Smith brought the beloved characters back to the big screen in 2006 for 'Clerks 2.' The difference being that they were played by different actors in a laugh-track-heavy TV show that more closely resembles 'Saved by the Bell' than the Kevin Smith cult classic on which it is "based."

The show never made it to TV -- a short-lived animated version was produced instead -- but now you can watch it because the internet... but you don't have to. You'll recognize actors like Keri Russell and Jim Breuer, but the most easily recognizable thing about this show is its potential to grow into the sort of disastrously terrible sitcom that would last 8-10 seasons on CBS these days.

By the way, Kev un-retired from making movies and currently has a full plate, which includes 'Clerks 3' and 'Mallrats 2.' Personally, I'm really excited for both. If the pilot above proves anything, it's that nobody can do Kevin Smith's characters justice but Kevin Smith. I almost forgot to mention that Smith had no involvement in this pilot.
