Shooting is underway on the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla. (We’d previously heard it was called Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but the press release that went out last week announcing the start of production never used that title, so it would appear that the official name is up in the air.) Today is Day 6, per director Mike Dougherty, and here is a snippet of the call-sheet that he tweeted:

The fact that these four monsters are all in the film is not news. That much was confirmed in the official plot synopsis for Godzilla 2 from last week attached to that announcement press release. If you missed it, here it is again:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

What I think is newsworthy here, is the fact that if all four kaiju are on the call sheet on the same day (assuming this isn’t just an elaborate prank, which seems unlikely since parts are blurred out) that means they are all in the same scene. And four monsters don’t hang out in the same scene to catch up on old times and swap scone recipes; they fight. Which seems to indicate you will see a big battle between all four of these critters. Which could be really awesome. Godzilla 2 opens on March 22, 2019.
