A couple weeks ago I had a chance to talk with writer / director Scott Symons about the upcoming movie, here is the interview and everything you need to know about A Flash of the Blade (including how to be a part of it).

Anyone who knows me knows I am a HUGE fan of horror films, so of course I'm psyched that one will be made right in our own backyard. Here is the lowdown on A Flash of the Blade...

Nick Blakeman, an alcoholic, suicidal loner, witnesses the brutal murder of reporter Jessica French. Jessica was covering a local serial killer and is believed to be his latest victim. Nick quickly becomes obsessed with her murder and launches his own investigation.

While researching the case, Nick is disturbed to learn that he and the killer have something in common: a psychological profile. Like a moth to the flame, he is drawn closer and closer to the source of the murders until he becomes a target himself...

Here is my interview with the man behind the movie, Scott Symons...

Here's some more on the movie and all the links you'll need to get involved...

'A Flash of the Blade' *will* be the next 'Deep Red'...the next 'Tenebrae.' Director Scott Symons is a life-long horror and giallo fan, and he is obsessed with re-creating the magic of all the classic Argento, Bava and Fulci films, while still making a film that will stand on its own. John Steiner (from 'Tenebrae,' 'Shock,' and over 100 other European films) is even attached to play a supporting role, and we're in the process of getting other 'cult' actors involved.

Don't be fooled by our budget: 'A Flash of the Blade' will indeed look like a 'real movie.' It will be shot on Hi-Def by Emmy-winning director of photography Scott Spears, who has over 20 years of experience shooting commercials, music videos, and feature films (including Bret Michaels' 'A Letter from Death Row').

We firmly believe that we are doing something special with 'Flash.' If you're tired of 'torture porn,' soulless remakes, and all the other tired trends dominating the genre today, and you want to see something a little different from your average Horror film, we ask that you support this film.
