Set within 15 acres of sprawling gardens, the English Inn is more than a restaurant, pub, and hotel - it's also the historic Medovue Estate of Irving and Janet Reuter.
Irving was the president and general manager of Oldsmobile. The estate was completed in 1927. After several different owners, including the Catholic Church, the property was converted into an inn in 1989. In 1991 it became a state registered historic site.
The dining room at the English Inn is truly memorable, with wood paneling, richly-colored fabrics, and a roaring fire.
The menu features starters like shrimp cocktail, baked brie, caviar, beef tartar, and French onion soup.
For dinner, choose from seasonal scallops, roasted chicken, seared duck, lobster stuffed walleye, beef wellington, and filet mignon.
At English Inn there's a cozy pub too!
On the menu you'll find fish and chips, the English Inn Burger, Bangers and Mash, and more on the menu.
You can also take in panoramic views of the historic estate and gardens while dining on the terrace.
The restaurant and pub are open Tuesday through Saturday 5p.m. to 10p.m. and Sunday 1p.m. to 9p.m.
