Two Great Lakes Named the Bluest Lakes in the World
Yet another reason to be in awe of our Great Lakes! Two have been ranked the bluest lakes on the planet.

Two Great Lakes Determined to be the Bluest Lakes on Earth
Well, according to the Detroit Free Press, back in 2009, a brilliant blue color was discovered accidentally at Oregon State University. Chemists were researching materials for electronics applications. Instead of a new new, high-efficiency electronic material, what came out of the furnace was a bright blue compound, now known as YInMn Blue or "MasBlue". The pigment is considered the "truest shade of blue" and contains elements Yttrium, Indium, Manganese, and Oxygen.

Recently, CanadaCasino decided to test popular lakes across the world compared to YInMn Blue.
They found Lake Ontario to be the bluest in the world. It's color difference from YinMN Blue is 5.32.
Lake Superior came in as the No. 2 bluest lake in the world, with a difference of 7.63.

Just one other U.S. lake made the list of the top ten bluest lakes on the planet.
