
Nation Ramps Up Security After Grand Blanc Church Tragedy
Following the horrific attack at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Grand Blanc Township yesterday, several bomb threats were called in to churches across Genesee County.
After Bomb Threats, Local Churches Step Up Security
Following the increase in threats, area churches and schools are ramping up security locally, as communities from across the country are not only mourning with us, they are also stepping up security.

From Massachusetts to California and New Hampshire, local law enforcement are increasing security and police presence at local schools, churches, and events in the wake of the Grand Blanc Township tragedy.
National Response: Communities Across U.S. Increase Police Presence
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass posted on social media:
The reports of a mass shooting and fire during Sunday services at an LDS church in Michigan are devastating. This type of violence is reprehensible and should have no place in our country. My heart is with the families impacted and the entire Grand Blanc community.
Bass went on to say today that they would increase police presence at churches and other places of worship on Sunday.
Expert Warning: ‘Nobody Is Immune’ to Threats
Terry Choate, CEO of Blue U Defense, told media:
It doesn't matter where we live, it doesn't matter how big or small this town or city is, it happens everywhere. Nobody is immune to these threats.
Maryland Community Joins in Mourning and Security Efforts
Just outside of Washington, D.C., the Montgomery County Department of Police took to social media to offer their sympathies and alerted the community that they too are stepping up police presence county-wide. The message said in part:
The Montgomery County Department of Police is aware of the mass shooting in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the community as they respond to this incident.
