Area residents watched in horror as flames and smoke filled the sky over the place of worship. Law enforcement quickly closed McCandlish Road between Saginaw and Holly Roads, the location of the church, and it has remained closed ever since.

McCandlish Road Closed During Ongoing Investigation
While he couldn’t give an exact timeframe for when the road will reopen to the public, the Sheriff said it would be at least another 24 hours from our 8 a.m. interview today, meaning sometime tomorrow (October 1, 2025).
UPDATE (10/1/2025 12:31pm): Police on the scene of the attack told Cars 108 that McCandlish will remain closed for at least another 24 to 48 hours, if not longer as the investigation continues.
UPDATE (10/3/2025 2:08pm): Officers that are securing the location have reported to us that they are still processing the scene. They are anticipating that McCandlish will hopefully reopen to traffic tomorrow (10/4/2025).

Units from North Oakland County, Holly, Fenton, Fenton Township, Grand Blanc, Grand Blanc Township, Burton, Mt. Morris, the City of Flint, and Davison all came together to support a community in need.
