You may sometimes hear the term President's Day used in place of Washington's Birthday by some state and local governments or private businesses. However, the holiday is officially designated as 'Washington's Birthday' according to section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code.

While Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day are fun, only one holiday in February is considered a federal holiday. This year, Washington's Birthday is recognized on Monday, February 17, 2025. All federal offices, including the United States Post Office will be closed on Monday.
