The Price Is Right Live Is Coming to Flint This October

Have you ever been watching a game show on TV and wished you were there in the studio audience? Or even better, what if you could actually be a contestant? Well, Flint-area game show fans are getting that opportunity when one of the most famous game shows of all time comes to town.

The Price Is Right Live! Is Coming to Flint

The Price Is Right Live! is coming to the Flint Institute of Music's Whiting Auditorium on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. And this isn't just a show where you sit in the audience and watch. You could actually hear those three famous words, “Come on down!”

The Price Is Right Live! is the live, interactive version of the television game show, featuring classic games including Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel and the Showcase Showdown.

You Could Actually 'Come On Down' and Play

According to the show's official tour website, fans have won more than $15 million in cash and prizes during more than 20 years of live performances.

Contestants are selected randomly from registered guests, so yes, someone sitting in that Flint audience could wind up on stage playing one of the pricing games. And who knows? You might even get the chance to spin that famous Big Wheel.

Todd Newton Will Host the Flint Show

Emmy Award-winning game show host Todd Newton will emcee the Flint performance. Newton has a pretty impressive game show résumé. He's hosted Hollywood Showdown, Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck, Family Game Night and The Price Is Right Live! He won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for 'Family Game Night' in 2012.

And there's a cool radio connection here, too. Newton started his entertainment career as a disc jockey at age 16 in St. Louis. He later made the jump to television, becoming a host on E! Entertainment Television in 1995. Today, he's also the host of The Host With The Most podcast, The Tattooed Traveler and the syndicated Todd Newton Morning Show with Maria Todd.

Genesee County Residents Get Special Ticket Pricing

Tickets currently start at $34, while Genesee County residents can get tickets for $26, with the total price including fees. There are also VIP options, including a Meet & Greet Experience and a Spin The Big Wheel Package.

One important thing to know if you're hoping to play: you must be 18 or older to register as a contestant, although the show itself is family-friendly and guests of all ages can attend.
