Michigan Woman Mistakes Jail for Local Bar

A Michigan woman made it exceptionally easy for law enforcement to bust for her last week for drunk driving, when she mistook the Van Buren County Jail for a local watering hole.

Reports indicate that Deputy Robert Miersma spotted a woman pulling in to the parking lot of the sheriff’s department at around 2am and begin screaming for her boyfriend to get into the car while she attempted to park. Of course, when officers approached the vehicle, they could tell this designated driver, of sorts, had no business behind the wheel.

A breathalyzer determined the woman was driving with a BAC of over twice the legal limit. She confessed to authorities that she had just left the bar uptown and believed she was pulling into another drinking establishment to give her boyfriend a ride home.

The woman was booked into the Van Buren County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a high BAC.
